Ihaan
The first thing I felt when my eyes slowly opened was her warmth.
Ahanshika's arm was curled around me, almost possessively, her bare body tangled with mine beneath the sheets. Her face rested against my chest, her breathing soft and steady, completely unaware of the chaos she caused inside me.
A small smile tugged at my lips.
Carefully, I leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
My heart thumped at the sight of her sleeping so peacefully.
I kissed her again.
She stirred slightly but didn't wake.
Allah.
I could stay here forever.
But the glowing numbers on the clock read 5:23 AM.
Everyone in the house was still asleep.
But if anyone came looking...
I brushed a strand of hair from her face and pressed one last kiss to her temple before slipping out of bed. The cold air hit my skin instantly, and I missed her warmth immediately.
Quietly, I pulled on my clothes and glanced back.
She looked too peaceful. Too beautiful. Too... mine.
A smirk tugged at my lips.
You have no idea what you do to me, flower.
Grabbing my shirt, I crossed the balcony back into my room. That damn balcony was both our blessing and our curse. It made sneaking into her room ridiculously easy and getting caught just as easy.
I headed straight for the shower, turning the water cold in an attempt to wash away the heat of last night.
It didn't help.
Her marks were still on my skin. Her taste still lingered on my lips.
By the time I finished dressing, my mind was still half lost in Ikaa's sleepy face.
Still, I forced myself to focus and headed toward Zavi bhai's room.
I knocked once.
Silence.
I knocked again.
Still nothing.
"Seriously?" I muttered before pushing the door open.
Empty.
My brows furrowed. Did he go jogging without me? Impossible. He never did that.
Confused, I headed downstairs.
And then I saw him.
Zavian bhai was walking toward the house, still wearing his hospital scrubs like he had just come from a shift.
My irritation melted into relief.
"Oh... so he was at the hospital," I murmured under my breath.
"Hi, bhai. When did you go?" I asked casually, though curiosity betrayed me.
Zavian bhai looked at me. Tired. Irritated. Too knowing.
"When you were in Ahanshi's room," he said flatly.
I froze for a moment.Acting actually.
Then leaned slightly closer and whispered, "Bhai... dhire bolo naa."
His glare could have killed a man.
"Idiot. Come with me."
"Where?" I raised an eyebrow.
"To hell. Now. And stop asking questions."
I sighed. Arguing with Zavian bhai was pointless, so I followed him silently to his room. The moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere changed....serious. Heavy. Like a storm waiting to break.
He leaned against his desk, arms crossed, his sharp gaze landing on me.
"When are you going to talk to Abbu, Ammi, and Chachu-Chachi about you and Ahanshi?" His voice was calm. Too calm. "Or should I do it?"
A pang of guilt hit my chest, but I shook my head.
"Ikaa doesn't want me to tell them yet."
His brows pulled together.
"Why?"
"Because... you're the elder one. You're not married yet. That's why."
Bhai exhaled heavily.
"Ihaan," he said slowly, patience thinning, "stop it. I know how thoughtful you two are... it's been three and a half years of your relationship."
He paused.
"And almsot one year of your secret marriage. And you're worried about my marriage now?"
"We are responsible, bhai. That's why we're thinking about when you'll get married," I replied.
His voice rose slightly. "And my marriage!?"
Rare. Zavian bhai almost never lost control.
"My girl is still very young," he added quickly, almost defensively.
"So my marriage will take time."
I blinked.I heard right?Yes I did.Then slowly, a grin spread across my face.
"Your girl?" I repeated, dramatically clearing my throat. "Ahem. Ahem."
His eyes narrowed. "Who is it, bhai? Do I know her? How young is she?"
I leaned forward with a teasing smile.
"Bhai, you are thirty-two. Get married soon, then I'll talk about my marriage too."
For a second, he looked ready to throw something at me.
But then a faint smirk appeared on his tired face.
"Think about you and Ahanshi, Ihaan," he said quietly. "You'll know who she is when the time comes."
His words carried weight...more than I understood right now.
I straightened, determination settling in my chest.
"I will talk to the family," I said firmly. "I will marry her publicly before this year ends."
I crossed my arms. "Happy?"
Bhai studied me for a moment before nodding slowly.
"Yes. Happy."
Then his expression turned serious again.
"But don't hurt her," he said softly.
"She is soft, Ihaan. She trusts you."
His eyes locked on mine. "Claim her properly before you might lose her."
Then he added, "And stop sneaking into her room every night. I know you're married, but it won't be easy for either of you."
I scoffed dramatically.
"I'm soft too. Think about me. Your precious Ahanshi tortures me every day."
Bhai laughed.....a rare sound.
"It's clear why she does that. Seeing you run is entertaining."
I grinned.
"Idiot," he muttered, rubbing his forehead. "Now get out. Let me rest."
I chuckled quietly and stepped out.
As I walked back toward my room, memories of the morning replayed-her arm around me, the warmth of her body, the peaceful look on her sleeping face.
A smile slowly spread across my lips.
I had never felt anything like this before.
This wasn't just an attraction.
It was deeper. Stronger.
Like she had carved a piece of herself into my soul.
I already couldn't wait to see her again. To hear her voice. To steal moments before the world demanded everything from us.
And one thing was certain: no matter how difficult things became...
I would never let anything hurt her.
Because she wasn't just Ahanshika.
She was my flower . My world. My everything.
And soon... I would make sure the whole world knew it.
